McCook Police Department in Nebraska recently purchased (2) Flex Field 3A Ballistic Barriers to deploy with their officers and EMS personnel during active shooter incidents. The shields were purchased through a COPS school violence prevention grant and local fundraising efforts, spearheaded by Mr. Howard Kool (a local businessman) and Mr. Gene Weedin (a retired teacher). Kool and Weedin spent the last year collecting donations from businesses, organizations, and individuals; even a young girl who donated $.75 during a local fair where they had a booth for fundraising.
“The Barriers are invaluable…will be available for all law enforcement in the area to use if needed.” said McCook Police Chief Ike Brown.
