WING IN GROUND (WIG) CRAFT
Next Generation Maritime Transport

A marine vessel that operates above the water surface on a dynamic air cushion created by aerodynamic lift due to the ground effect between the vessel and the water’s surface. The WIG M80 is classified as a ship by IMO.

EFFECT
WIG
(Wing-In-Ground)
What is?
The phenomenon of increased lift and decreased drag when an object flies close to the water or ground surface.

A Hybrid of Aviation and Watercraft Technology
The M80 offers exceptional operational advantages by combining the speed of an aircraft with the fuel efficiency, versatility, lower purchase and maintenance costs and increased safety of a marine vessel. Designed to operate over water and limited land surfaces, the M80 can significantly reduce transit times by operating in straight lines with the ability to momentarily increase altitude for obstacle avoidance and high-altitude overlook.

Ship Mode

1-62 mph (100km/h)
Max wave height for takeoff & landing 5.9 ft (1.8m)
*Based on wave structure.
WIG Effect Zone

112-124 mph (180-200km/h)
Max Speed: 155 Mph (250 km/h)
Optimum WIG Zone is
9.8 ft - 22 ft
Max Operational Altitude

Max Flight Altitude: 492 ft (150m) *IMO Guidelines
Cruising Range: 350 nm (650 km)
Upgradable to 525 nm (972km)
Operating in Wing-in-Ground (WIG) effect mode, the M80 uses approximately 25% less fuel than a helicopter and 70% less fuel than a comparable boat. With a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h), the M80 is 4–5 times faster than a ferry and rivals the speed of helicopters in the same class.
Operational Convenience
The M80 can be operated with basic facilities such as prefabricated dock systems.

The M80 is easily maneuverable via electric wing-hull thrusters.

The M80 is easily boardable at sea.

The M80 can operate in as little as 3ft (1M) of water.

The M80's ability to operate at low altitudes provides for a reduced Radar Cross Section (RCS) , increasing survivability over other manned aircraft. This semi-stealth capability supports rapid transportation of troops, equipment, or supplies across maritime environments, enhancing mission success.
The M80 is constructed of advanced composite materials making it lightweight and corrosive resistant Simplistic design and minimal moving parts keeps maintenance costs far below that of an aircraft or helicopter.

The M80 is powered by one of the world’s most popular and trusted aircraft engine, the Pratt & Whitney PT6A, with parts and service available in over 100 countries.

The M80 offers a stable ride by “floating” on a cushion of air created by the Wing-In-Ground effect. In the unlikely event of engine failure, the M80’s wings are angled to provide for a safe, controlled decent.
Customizable Interior
The WIG M80 offers a customizable cabin interior, allowing it to be tailored to specific operational needs, whether for military, rescue, or commercial use. This flexibility enables the integration of seating arrangements, cargo configurations, or specialized equipment to optimize performance for diverse missions.
