General Claudio Graziano, current Chief of Defence Staff for the Italian Armed Forces, visited Italy’s elite counter terrorism unit, Gruppo Intervento Speciale (GIS) in Tuscany. GIS operators conducted a short demonstration of a terrorism compound takedown, using their MARS Elevated Tactics System to breach a 2nd floor window during a dynamic entry. Following the demonstration, General Graziano met with members of the GIS and Carabinieri Paracadutisti del 1° Reggimento, and reviewed the equipment used during the demo. With the global threat of terrorism, General Graziano and the GIS continue to ensure Italy is prepared for any potential attacks as they continue to be engaged in multiple military assistance and defense forces missions around the world.

“The Harris County Sheriff’ SWAT team was called to a Barricaded Hostage Incident, which involved multiple suspects, and one female hostage in a second story apartment. A plan was developed, which involved placing an energetic breaching charge on the fortified apartment door, and an entry element mounted on the MARS Platform. On command, the MARS would approach the crisis site, and when the ramp was in position, the breacher was cleared to defeat the door. The entry element, using the MARS Elevated Tactics System, breached the second story sliding glass balcony doors, and cleared the two-bedroom apartment to locate the hostage and detain the suspects; the Hostage was located and removed without injury, and the suspects were taken without further incident.”
– Harris County SWAT Sgt.

Spezialeinsatzkommando (SEK) operators in Cologne raided a Hells Angels club Wednesday evening. SEK NRW deployed one of their MARS RDD Elevated Tactics Systems to breach the compounds iron perimeter gate using their FAST Rope Tower attachment, before making entry into the club house. Operators were able to fast rope over the perimeter gate from their MARS system and storm the clubhouse without alerting the Hells Angels members inside. The raid was prompted by an incident 2 weeks ago, when 40 Hells Angels attached a Bandidos birthday celebration at a nightclub. Several weapons, drugs, cash, and media files were seized from the compound which also resulted in 12 members being arrested.
SEK operators have deployed their MARS systems on other motorcycle club raids in the past to gain entry to their often secured and fortified compounds, including the recent raid in Leverkusen.

The Liberator system allowed officers to quickly get the victims out of harm’s way and safely into the ballistic protection of the BearCat without exposing them to the ongoing threat in the apartment next to them where shots had been fired. After negotiations all of the subjects surrendered.
Austria’s Einsatzkommando (EKO) Cobra unit, the nation’s premier counter terrorism response force, held the largest national anti-terror exercise in Upper Austria. The exercise which took place at the Ebelsberg Barracks included Austrian police units, the German Army, Austrian fire brigades and a rescue organization. The exercise was built around a terrorism event, where a large number of terrorists captured a multi-story building with hostages located on several floors. The first floor was wired with explosives to prevent Police and Military from making entry into the building. Due to this intel, EKO Cobra personnel used their MARS Elevated Tactics Systems to surprise and rapidly assault several second floor entry points. Operators breached 2 windows from the end of the ramp systems, while deploying distraction devices, then storming the floor with up to 20 operators in a matter of seconds. Austria and many European nations continue to hold numerous Anti-Terror exercises due to the increasing threat of ISIS and extremism within the EU.
An international sniper competition was held in Spain the end of the 2016, where military special forces groups and counter-terror units from around the world converged to compete against each other. The competition consisted of multiple challenges for snipers, including elevated “sniper initiated shots” from the MARS Elevated Tactics System. The MARS (owned by Spain’s national Grupo Especial de Operaciones – GEO), was deployed with ramps at varying heights for different height & angled shots. 2 snipers from each team had to climb the MARS assault platform and take 1 shot, either from the prone position or using the Sniper Bench; following the shot, snipers then had to FAST Rope down the MARS system and rush to the finish line.
Whether it be for a “sniper initiated shot” or sniper positioning, the MARS tactical assault ladder is considered the best tactical intervention and shooting platform by elite tactical units around the world.
Swedish Police tactical units deployed their MARS intervention system during a raid on pedophile ring leader’s home. Operators approached the house with their MARS system pre-set to the suspects second floor window. Utilizing their Dynamic Distraction Lighting to distract and blind the suspect, operators breached his bedroom window and took the suspect without injury/harm to him or any police personnel. After investigating the suspects house and files, they determined that the pedophile ring (6 others that were arrested over the week), were collecting child pornography and planning to kidnap several refugee children and keep them hostage, with one of the suspects also being investigated over the possible rape of a child.
According to an Aftonbladet (Sweden media site) photographer who was on scene, the operation “was dramatic and over quickly….it completely shocked and surprised the suspect.”
